2 Cups milk
1 packet falooda sev
2 tsp rose water
½ tsp Soaked tukmuri seeds


Firstly boil the sev in water for 20 minutes. After the sev gets softened, drain the excess water. Boil the sev in some milk over medium heat for 15 minutes. Now, add ice to cool down the boiled sev. Put the sev in glasses. Add rose water and soaked tukmuri seeds. Pour in milk and add ice. Top it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Falooda is ready to be served.

Delicious Prawn Pickle Recipe

Pickle also called as achaar happens to be delicious food taken by Indians and Pakistanis to a greater extent. In fact, consumed by several countries around the globe. Pickle can be sour or mild and made with vegetarian or non-vegetarian ingredients.

Prawn Pickle is an unique non-vegetarian pickle made with prawns or shrimp. Lets learn making this tasty recipe.

Ingredients for making Prawn Pickle:

Prawns (or Shrimp) - 1 kg (2 lbs)
Ginger - 1/4 cup (minced or crushed)
Garlic - 1/4 cup (minced or crushed)
Green Chilies - 10 (slit - optional)
curry Leaves - about 10 sprigs
Red chilly powder - 4-5 tblsp (skip or add as per your taste)
Turmeric Powder - 2 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Fenugrek Seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Vinegar - 1/2 cup
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Salt - 5 tsp (or to taste)
Sesame oil - as needed for deep frying

Firstly, clean the prawns by removing its shell and deveining it. Pat the pieces dry using a paper towel. Mix salt, turmeric powder and red chilly powder. Apply over the prawns and toss it so that every piece gets coated well. Let it rest and marinate for at least half an hour. Deep fry the prawns over medium heat. We want the pieces to be golden brown without getting burnt. Drain and remove the pieces. Coarsely crush the mustard seeds, cumin seeds and fenugreek seeds using a motor and pestle. Add it to the same oil. Add the ginger, garlic, curry leaves and green chilies. Shallow fry this on low heat. Once the mixture gets cooked, add the vinegar. If you want more gravy, add some water. Switch off. Add the fried prawns and toss well. Let this pickle rest for about 2 days for the flavors to blend together.

Prawn Pickle can go wonderfully as a side dish for chappati, rice, bread etc. Fish pickle, chicken pickle otherwise mutton pickle can also be made using the same method.

What can be as good as experiencing a culture through its food. Here comes Satay with its uniqueness. A recipe which belongs to Java, Indonesia which undergo a process of seasoned, skewered and grilled meat, served with a sauce.

Satay may consist of diced or sliced chicken, goat, mutton, beef, pork, fish, other meats, or tofu. The more authentic version uses skewers from the midrib of the coconut palm frond, although bamboo skewers are often used. These are grilled or barbecued over a wood or charcoal fire, then served with various spicy seasonings. Satay is available almost anywhere in Indonesia, where it has become a national dish. It is also popular in many other Southeast Asian countries, including Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, the Philippines, and Thailand, as well as in Suriname and the Netherlands, as Indonesia and Suriname are former Dutch colonies.

Satay is a very popular delicacy in Indonesia; the country's diverse ethnic groups' culinary arts  have produced a wide variety of satays. In Indonesia, satay can be obtained from a travelling satay vendor, from a street-side tent-restaurant, in an upper-class restaurant, or during traditional celebration feasts. In Malaysia, satay is a popular dish especially during celebrations and can be found throughout the country.

Let's learn to make Satay and enjoy the flavour of Indonesia.

Ingredients for making Chicken Satay Recipe:

1½lb Chicken breast (cut into ¾ inch strips)
Bamboo skewers

Marinade:
4 tbsp. Coconut milk
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp. Soy sauce (Golden Mountain)
1 tsp. Brown sugar
½ tsp. Cumin Powder
½ tsp. Coriander Powder
1 tsp curry or turmeric Powder
1/3 tsp. salt
½ tsp. black pepper

Basting Sauce:
½ cup Coconut milk
1/3 tsp. Sugar
1/3 tsp. Turmeric or curry powder

In large mixing bowl, combine all the marinade thoroughly. Add Chicken slices, mix well and keep aside at least for an hour. Put the chicken in to skewers and refrigerate for half a day. When needs it , grill it and baste occasionally during cooking. OR back in the oven on 350” F about 45 minutes until chicken cooked.

Serve hot. You may have it with any spicy sauce but preferably with cucumber salad & Peanut sauce.

2 tbsp Oil or Ghee
At first take a mixing bowl and break all the four eggs along with sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Add milk (1/2 cup) in the mixing bowl. Mix the ingredients until you get smooth paste. Now add vanilla essence. Dip the bread slices into the preparation for few seconds. Heat ghee/oil in a frying pan. Now cook those dipped bread pieces in the pan until they get crisp and brown. Now you can serve the toast hot with desired fruits.

Green Capsicum - 1 small sized, chopped
Onions - 1 medium sized, chopped
Spring Onions - a handful
Greens of Spring Onions - for garnishing
Salt - to taste
Cornflour - 2 tablespoon mixed with 1/4 cup water
Maida - 2 tablespoon
Soya Sauce - 1 tablespoon
Pepper Powder - 1 tablespoon
Eggs - 1 no, white
Ginger Garlic paste - 2 teaspoon
Red Chilli Powder - 1 teaspoon
Oil - 4 tablespoon
Vinegar - 1 teaspoon
In a bowl, add cornflour, maida, salt and egg. Mix it well and make a fine paste. Dip in the prawns to the paste and marinate for half an hour. Deep fry the prawns and keep it aside. Heat oil, add onion, a little salt and fry till it light brown. Add capsicum, spring onions, ginger garlic paste and saute for sometime. Add red chilli powder, pepper powder and fry for a minute. Add soya sauce, tomato sauce, salt to taste and mix well. Add the fried prawns and cook for sometime. Garnish with Greens of Spring onions.
Prawn Chilli can be eaten just as a starter otherwise also with noodles or rice items of your choice.

Ingredients for making Baked chicken legs:

6-8 leg pieces of chicken.
1 tbsp oil
4-5 whole red chilli
1 tsp salt or adjust to your taste.
1 onion
4 cloves of garlic
1/2 tsp sugar
1/4 c lemon juice
2 tbsp Tahina


Leaving out the chicken blend the rest of the ingredients to a fine paste. In a bowl marinade the chicken over night. Next morning pre heat oven to 350 deg. Put the marinated chicken in a baking dish/ oven, cover with a foil and bake for 30. Remove the foil and bake for 15 -20 min until golden. Remove from heat and serve with salad. Baked chicken legs go really well with tawa baked naan roti otherwise tandoori roti. Now, individual preference does vary from person to person.

Masala Puri happens to be an Indian recipe that suites all occasions in our country. Its a perfect choice among people ideally during breakfast otherwise dinner. Now, exceptions occur everywhere. Anyway lets learn making Masala Puri.

Ingredients for making Masala Puri:

•Refined flour (maida) 1 cup
•Semolina (rawa/suji) 1/3 cup
•Oil to deep fry
•Carom seeds (ajwain) 1/4 teaspoon
•Salt to taste
•Gram flour (besan) 1/2 cup
•Fennel seeds (saunf) 1/4 teaspoon
•Cumin seeds 1/4 teaspoon
•Baking soda a pinch
•Chaat masala 1/4 teaspoon
•Red chilli powder 1/4 teaspoon
•Turmeric powder a pinch
•Fresh coriander,finely chopped 1/2 tablespoon

Making of Masala Puri:  

At first, heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Mix together flour, rawa, carom seeds and salt with sufficient water in a bowl and knead into a dough. Apply a little oil to the dough. Cover with damp muslin cloth and keep aside for some time. In another bowl mix together gram flour, fennel seeds powder, cumin seeds, baking soda, chaat masala, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt. Add coriander leaves and a little water and mix well. Add 1 tsp hot oil and mix well. Divide the dough into equal balls, shape each ball into a katori, stuff with a portion of besan mixture, gather the edges and seal. Apply a little oil to each and roll into small puris. Deep-fry puris in the hot oil till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper. Puri can be taken with any curries (veg- non-veg), dal tadka, masala choley otherwise any sweet dish as well. Individual tastes genuinely vary therefore have it with your favourite one's.  

Serve it hot to taste it best .

Ingredients for making Lemon Mushroom Recipe

1 tablespoon cooking Oil
1 teaspoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon ginger paste
½ teaspoon cornflower
1 bowl (100 gms) button Mushrooms diced
1 teaspoon Chilli flakes
Seasoning - Lemon grass
Salt to Taste
1 fresh lime juice


Pour just 1 table oil into a frying pan. (You can use even lesser oil or spray the oil to the wok, but simmer the flame so that the ingredients don`t stick). Sautee the garlic and ginger paste lightly and add the mushrooms. Add the mushrooms and toss them. In a separate container mix the cornflower to half a cup of water till completely dissolved. Add this mixture to the pan and simmer the flame. Add the chilli flakes and salt, and let the water reduce for 5 to 7 minutes. Once the Water has evaporated take the mushrooms off the heat and pour it in the serving utensil. Sprinkle a pinch of finely pounded Lemon Grass on top. Add a freshly squeezed lime juice on the mushrooms and toss it lightly. For garnish, add a little grated rind of a fresh lemon and a fresh cilantro leaf. If you have any other innovative idea go ahead with it.

Serve when hot. This dish can be served with roti otherwise bread as per your choice.

Blend the roasted tomato mixture with coriander leaves and tamarind pulp till smooth. Serve  it along with your choice of bread and get mesmerized with the yummy one!

115 gms (4 oz) Butter
200 gms (7 oz) White Sugar
1 tbsp Golden Syrup
1 Egg
225 gms (8 oz) Flour (Maida)
1 tsp Baking Powder
3 tsp Ginger Powder
2 tsp Mixed Spice
½ tsp Baking Soda


Preparation of Ginger Biscuits:

Firstly, preheat oven to 180°C, 350°F or gas mark 4. In a large bowl, blend the butter and sugar, add golden syrup and egg to mix them thoroughly. Add the flour, baking powder, ginger powder, mixed spice and baking soda and mix until well combined. Roll into small balls and place on lined baking tray allowing room to spread. Do not flatten the balls. Bake for 15 minutes.
